Why Does "Grass Fed & Finished" Matter?

It all comes down to one thing...

Beef Fat!

Well, that's what tallow is, but we're talking about the quality of the fat.

Beef products with the "grass-fed" label can be deceptive. Often times these grass-fed cows finish out their lives on a diet of grain and soy. In a matter of weeks, this changes the fat profile of the cow and reduces its quality. It is a cheap way to fatten a cow. 

93% of the soy in America has been altered (GMO). It is high in glyphosate, a known endocrine disruptor that causes cancer, neurological issues, and reproductive abnormalities. No one wants this in their tallow-based products. We use tallow to be healthy!

 

When grain is fed to cows, it changes the micro-biome of their multiple stomachs and gives them heartburn and bloat. The meat and fat from grain-finished cows have a worse Omega 6 to 3 ratio than grass-fed cows. 

 

This is why we use grass fed AND FINISHED tallow. Cows were meant to eat grass from beginning to end.

So yeah, our beef fat is better.
