Hi, I'm Danny James, founder of James Co.

I've been on a health journey since 2020; eating healthy, diligently checking ingredients, and seeking out farms that use organic regenerative practices. The journey then expanded into what I was putting on my skin. After all, the skin is the largest human organ and everything you put on it absorbs into your body. 

 

We’ve all heard of tallow… I first started using tallow on my face when I heard of the amazing benefits people were experiencing with it. Don’t get me wrong, it did work some magic, but applying it felt greasy all day and it didn’t smell good. 

 

I was also paying $34 plus shipping! Then, come to find out, it wasn’t even made with the best possible ingredients (not all tallow is created equal). I explored the market more and found that brands were charging premium prices for less-than-premium ingredients. 

 

So I went on a mission to do two things:

1) Make organic products with premium ingredients

2) Sell it at a fair price 

 

After many tries, I finally created a precise blend that worked for my skin and smelled amazing (it's our signature whipped tallow cream). I shared it with friends and family.  They loved it and asked for more!

 

…​and so James Co. began.

We have many more organic products in development. It's important to me that they are not only healthy for you by using premium, ethically-sourced ingredients, but that they actually work well and you can get them at a modest price. Sometimes buying natural products can mean you're sacrificing quality; they don't apply to your skin easily, don't smell good, etc. With James Co. you can be sure that you won't be sacrificing any of those things.

How do we keep prices low?

Marketing

Did you know that for most companies, a large portion of the product price goes into their marketing costs? We'd rather put that money into product development, so we do grassroots marketing. 

Packaging

In a lot of ways packaging is a symbol of a brand. In the personal care industry, packaging can account for up to 20% of the cost of production. We think that's too much. We have simple packaging, and use mailer boxes to cut down on waste.

Debt

Debt costs a company money and it's incorporated into the sales price of a product. We could have launched with a huge product line, a ton of inventory, and lots of paid marketing, but we decided not to take on debt to keep your prices low. We scale up as we are able.
